Nematus wesmaeli Tischbein, 1853: 347–348 . Syntypes ♀ ♂, probably destroyed. Type locality: Germany, Rheinland-Pfalz, near Herrstein.

Pachynematus edentatus Lindqvist, 1975: 19 . Holotype ♀, not found in MZH. Type locality: Russia, Republic of Buryatia, Tunkinsky, Zun-Murino. Syn. nov.

Notes

A specimen in MZH (http://id.luomus.fi/GL.5147) labelled as the type of edentatus cannot be the holotype because of the different locality on its label (unless there has been a mix-up). The specimen does not appear to differ from the original description (including the lancet) and therefore we treat edentatus as a synonym of Pristiphora wesmaeli , although synonymy instead with P. glauca cannot be excluded, should it really be a species separate from P. wesmaeli : see Prous et al. (2017).
