Diagnosis
Its large size, extensively pale body (females can be almost completely pale, and while alive tend to be green), small subapical tooth, in dorsal view long and narrow valvula 3, and penis valve distinguish the species from the other Euura . Female (6.0)7.0– 8.5 mm. Male 5.5–7.0(7.5) mm.

Host plants
The usual host is Picea abies , but P. pungens is also accepted ( Kula et al. 2016).

Distribution and material examined
Palaearctic. Specimens studied are from Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland.
