3.1 | Phylogeny of Pomatias (Hyrcania)
The final alignment had a length of 1607 base pairs (bp): cox1 658 bp, 16S 533 bp, 18S + ITS1 + 5.8S 416 bp. The PARTITIONFINDER analyses suggested dividing the data into three partitions: 1st and 2nd codon positions of cox1 and 16S ( HKY + G model), 3rd codon positions of cox1 ( HKY) and 18S + ITS1 + 5.8S (K80 model) .
The phylogenetic analyses of the Pomatias (Hyrcania) species based on the concatenated mitochondrial and nuclear sequences with Pomatias (Pomatias) elegans and Tudorella multisulcata (Potiez & Michaud, 1838) as outgroup indicated a sister group relationship between P. rivularis and P. hyrcanus (Figure 2). Furthermore, they showed that the populations from Sillyon and Alanya on the Anatolian southern coast were P. glaucus . The specimen from Marmaris on the Anatolian west coast identified as P. rivularis by Pfenninger et al. (2010) actually belonged to this species.
