Source. Published in the binomen “ Emea Sillimani, Grd. ” [sic] by Girard (1893: 242).
Type locality. Monroe County, New York State, USA (same for Tetrastemma aquarumdulcium Silliman, 1884 ) ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ) .
Etymology. A masculine noun in the genitive singular, after Wyllis A. Silliman, who described Tetrastemma aquarumdulcium .
Remarks. Girard (1893: 242) transferred Tetrastemma aquarumdulcium Silliman, 1884 to Emea , renaming it Emea sillimani and attributing himself as the naming authority in a taxonomic heading. This was accompanied by the synonymy: “SYN. — Tetrastemma aquarum dulcium, Sillim. Zeits. wiss. Zool., XLI, 1885, p. 70, pl. III, 19–24.” Emea sillimani is unavailable under Article 11.6, although Gibson (1995: 362) listed it as an invalid (but available) name.
