Hsue, 1983
, which was a junior secondary homonym of
Phyllis flava Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830

Remarks:
Hsue (1983)
described a new species,
Syllegopterula flava
, from Liaoning,
China
. Later, the genus
Syllegopterula
Pokorny, 1893
was regarded as a junior synonym of
Thricops Rondani, 1856
. For
Thricops flava (Hsue)
, which is a homonym of
Thricops flava (Robineau-Desvoidy)
[junior synonym of
Thricops diaphanus (Wiedemann, 1817)
] when in that genus, a new name was proposed. Xue (in Xue & Chao 1998) replaced
Thricops flava (Hsue)
with
Thricops flavidus Xue.
Savage (2003: 139)
wrote, “Since submission of this manuscript, Dr. Fan Zi-de has expressed his intentions to transfer
Thricops flavidus Xue
to the genus
Piezura (Fanniidae)
(letter to A.C. Pont of 12 October 2002)”. While reexamining the holotype of
Thricops flavidus
, we found this species does indeed belong in the genus
Piezura
in the
Fanniidae
. After comparing the type with specimens of
Piezura graminicola
from Shanxi and Heilongjiang, we have concluded it is conspecific with them. Since the species is transferred out of
Thricops
to
Piezura
, there is no longer any secondary homonymy and the original name
Syllegopterula flava
is therefore restored.
Thricops flavidus
Xue, 1998
and
Syllegopterula flava
Hsue, 1983
are considered new synonyms of
Piezura graminicola (
Zetterstedt, 1846
)
.
