ETYMOLOGY. — The name of the genus “ Castrea ” is dedicated to the Minister of Overseas and Marines, Martinho de Mello e Castro, and the species name “ rosmarinifolia ” from the similarity of the leaves with those of Rosmarinus L.

nov. À noter que selon les usages, les formes les mieux appropriées auraient été « Castroa », « Franzinia » et « Willemia » (W. Greuter comm. pers.). Le traitement taxonomique est réalisé ci-dessous, étant indiquées pour chaque taxon l’étymologie et les diverses notes de Feijó: écologie, nom vernaculaire et usage. En regard de la famille concernée est indiquée, entre crochets, la classification linnéenne utilisée par Feijó.
