Range: — Colombia to Venezuela and Bolivia (CO, LP, SC).
Ecology: —Fairly common; epiphytic in wet forests; 700–2500 m.
Notes: —Plants from Bolivia previously identified as M. taxifolia (see under Excluded Species), are referable to M. amphidasyon . However, the two species are very closely related, and appear to overlap in distribution in Venezuela and the Andes.
