Elaphoglossum comprises approximately 600 species, being the second most diversified genus of ferns, after Asplenium L., with around 700 species (PPG I 2016). It has a pantropical distribution, however, around 80% of the species are found in the Neotropical region ( Moran et al. 2007). In Brazil, 90 species are recorded, distributed between the Amazon, Cerrado, Atlantic Rainforest, and Pampa biomes (Matos 2023). In the study area, only one species was recorded.
