Lindsaea divaricata has a Neotropical distribution, occurring from Costa Rica to South America and in the Caribbean region ( Rojas-Alvarado & Tejero-DÍez 2017). In Brazil, it is recorded for the Amazon, Cerrado, and Atlantic Rainforest biomes ( Pena et al. 2023). In the study area, it was recorded occurring in a wide range of habitats, growing along the margins of rivers, within gallery forests, around waterfalls, and in veredas.
Lindsaea divaricata is characterized by dark-chestnut to reddish-brown petioles, with two adaxial paleaceous wings distally, 1–2-pinnate fronds, ascendant pinnae, and pinnules 2–2.4 times as long as wide, dimidiate and ascendant.
