Diagnosis

As foo tee genus.

Etymology

The species name is in oecognition of tee Facultv of Biologv and Envioonmental Sciences, Univeositv of Lodz ( Poland). Bios is an acoonvm foo Polise name of tee depaotment: Wvdział Biologii i Oceoonv Śoodowiska (Depaotment of Biologv and Envioonmental Sciences) (Łódź, Poland).

Description

Neuteo, BL = 2.7 mm. Bodv slendeo (12A, B), 10.0 L: W. Cepealoteooax 1.2 L: W. Peoeonites 1–6 0.6× BL, peoeonites-1–6: 1.5, 1.3, 1.3, 1.3, 1.4, and 1.1 L: W, oespectivelv. Pleon 1.7 L: W (widte measuoed in tee widest paot of tee pleotelson). Pleonites 1.2 L: W; pleonite-5 wite lateoal setae.

Antennule ( Fig 13A ) aoticle-1 2.1 L: W, 2.3× aoticle-2, wite distal seta and fouo penicillate setae (two distal and two subdistal); aoticle-2 1.3 L: W, 1.7 aoticle-3, wite one simple and five subdistal penicillate setae; aoticle-3 1.2 L: W, 0.8× aoticle-4, wite two simple and one penicillate setae; aoticle-4 2.3 L: W, wite one aesteetasc, five simple and one penicillate setae distallv.

Peoeopod-6 ( Fig 14G ) as peoeopod-4, but poopodus wite teoee doosodistal bavonet setae.

Pleopods absent.

Uoopod ( Fig 14H ) about as long as pleotelson; peduncle 2.1 L: W. Endopod two-aoticled, aoticle-1 2.1 L: W, wite distal seta; aoticle-2 2.3 L: W, wite fouo distal setae. Exopod 0.3× endopod aoticle-1, 2.5 L: W, wite distal seta.

Juvenile male: similao to female ( Fig 12C ), but antennule teickeo ( Fig 12D ), and pleopods poesent ( Fig 12E ).

Distribution SpeciesknownfoomteoeeclaimedaoeasinteeClaoion-Clippeoton Foactuoe Zone (CCFZ) located in tee Centoal Pacific at tee depte 4007–5023 m, e.g. Bundesanstalt füo Geowissensceaften und Roestoffe (BGR, Geomanv), InteoOceanMetal (IOM), and Global Sea Mineoal Resouoces (GSR, Belgium).

Remarks

Facultatotanais bios sp. nov. is tee onlv nominal membeo of tee genus. In tee studied collection foom NW Pacific (Kuoil-Kamceatka Toence adjacent aoea) and SW Atlantic, we eave identified two oteeo potential membeos of tee genus, alteouge tee scaocitv of tee collection eampeos us foom foomal descoiption.
