Edessa guyanensis Fernandes & Doesburg, 2000

ALTO PARANA: Refugio Biológico Limoy , 24̊ 45’ S 54̊ 27’ W, 6. XI. 2006; Estancia Dimas , 25̊ 32’ S 55̊ 13’ W, 7. VII. 2013.

E. guyanensis was first described in 2000, based on material from Suriname, French Guyana and Brazil ( Fernandes & Doesburg, 2000). Other finds have been reported from Peru ( Arnold, 2011). Additional occurrence can now be reported from two small remaining remnants of the former subtropical Atlantic forest in the eastern part of Paraguay.
