Type species. Caenotilla choreocarina Pitts & Manley in Manley & Pitts, 2002 (female), by original designation (junior subjective synonym of Morsyma ashmeadii Fox, 1899 (male erroneously stated as “female”), according to Pitts, 2007a: 99).
Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Morsyma Fox, 1899 according to Brothers, 2006: 579 and Pitts, 2007a: 99. Subjectively invalid name.
Sex association. The male of the type species was associated, identified (as Morsyma ashmeadii Fox, 1899: 287 ) and redescribed by Pitts, 2007a: 99.
Distribution. Nearctic.
