Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Mutilla dolosa Smith, 1879 (female), by original designation.
Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Pristomutilla Ashmead, 1903 according to Bradley & Bequaert, 1923: 230. Resurrected as a distinct taxon by Brothers, 1975: 591 . Valid generic name.
Sex association. The male of the type species was associated but not described by Brothers, 1975: 591 ; the males described as Myrmilla feminaeformis Bischoff, 1920: 59 and Myrmilla inalata Bischoff, 1920: 59 are species of Ceratotilla according to DJB. New combinations.
Distribution. Afrotropical.
