Type species. Trogaspidia tuberculifera Bischoff, 1920 (male), by original designation.

Taxonomic history. Valid subgeneric name.

Sex association. The female of the type species was associated by Nonveiller, 1975: 171 and identified (as Trogaspidia lacustris Bischoff, 1920: 401 ) by Nonveiller, 1980a: 55.

Distribution. Afrotropical.
