Type species. Mutilla hildebrandti Saussure, 1891 (female), by automatic designation (see Hildebrandtia Olsoufieff, 1938 ).

Taxonomic history. Replacement name for Hildebrandtia Olsoufieff, 1938 not Nieden, 1907. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The male has not been recognized.

Distribution. Afrotropical.
