Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Mutilla desertorum Radochkoffsky [=Radoszkowski], 1865 (female) by original designation.
Taxonomic history. Valid subgeneric name.
Sex association. The male of the type species was associated and identified (as Mutilla (Dasylabris) scissa André, 1903: 407 ) by Lelej, 1976a: 196.
Distribution. Palaearctic.
