Gender. Feminine.

Type species. Mutilla ignota André, 1904 (male), by original designation.

Taxonomic history. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The female of the type species was associated but not described by Nonveiller, 1980a: 64; no female has since been described.

Distribution. Afrotropical.
