Dilophotopsis Schuster, 1958 . Ent. Amer. (N.S.) 37: 5, 11 (in keys); 71 (description). Male, female.

Gender. Feminine.

Type species. Mutilla concolor Cresson, 1865 (male), by original designation.

Taxonomic history. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The female of the type species was associated and identified (as Mutilla nanula Dalla Torre, 1897) by Pitts et al., 2007: 138 (synonymized with the type species by Wilson & Pitts, 2008: 516).

Distribution. Nearctic.
