Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Myrmilla Wesmael, 1851 according to Brothers, 1975: 591 . Resurrected to subgeneric status (in Myrmilla Wesmael, 1851 ) by Lelej, 1985b: 110. Valid subgeneric name.
Sex association. The male of the type species was associated and described by Lelej, 1985b: 110.
Distribution. Palaearctic.
