Peringueya Ashmead, 1903 . Canad. Ent. 35: 327, 329. Male, female.
Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Mutilla erinnys Péringuey, 1898 (male), by original designation (misspelled as erynnis). The simultaneous designation of Mutilla phocia Péringuey, 1899 (female) (replacement name for Mutilla euterpe Péringuey, 1898 not Blake, 1879) by Ashmead, 1903: 329 is invalid (implicitly rejected by first-reviser Bischoff, 1920: 247 and explicitly by Mickel, 1928: 34).
Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Odontomutilla Ashmead, 1899 according to Bischoff, 1920: 245. Subjectively invalid name.
Sex association. The female of the type species has not been recognized; DJB has examined the holotype of M. phocia in the South African Museum and found it to be a Labidomilla André, 1902 .
Distribution. Afrotropical.
