Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Mutilla danuna Cameron in Sjöstedt, 1910 (male), by original designation.
Taxonomic history. Valid subgeneric name.
Sex association. The female of the type species was associated but not described by Nonveiller, 1995a: 357; no female has since been described.
Distribution. Afrotropical.
