Nanomutilla André, 1900 (as subgenus of Mutilla Linnaeus, 1758 ). Spec. Hymen. d'Eur. et d'Alg. 8: 130 (in key); 1901a: 223 (description); date?: pl. 10, fig. 8. Female, male.
Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Mutilla (Nanomutilla) vaucheri Tournier, 1895 (female), by subsequent designation of Ashmead, 1903: 331 (or monotypy if pl. 10 was published in 1900).
Taxonomic history. Raised to generic status by André, 1902c: 23. Senior subjective synonym of Ticopla Nagy, 1970. Valid generic name.
Sex association. The male of the type species has not been recognized; the males of other species were associated and identified (as species of Ticopla Nagy, 1970a: 85) by Brothers, 1975: 590 , 622 (the supposed male of Nanomutilla microsoma André, 1901b: 326 was incorrectly associated (identified as a Smicromyrmilla Suárez, 1965 by Nonveiller, 1973c: 70)).
Distribution. Palaearctic, Afrotropical.
