Gender. Masculine (Article 30.2.4 of the Code).
Type species. Smicromyrme taiwanus Tsuneki, 1993 (male), by original designation (misspelled as taiwana).
Taxonomic history. Raised to generic status by Lelej, 1996b: 6. Valid generic name.
Sex association. The female of the type species has not been recognized; the female of another species was associated and identified (as Smicromyrme basirufus Chen, 1957: 185 ) by Lelej, 1996b: 6.
Distribution. Oriental, Palaearctic.
