Wallacidia Lelej & Brothers. Female, male. New genus.
Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Mutilla oculata Fabricius, 1804: 432 (female).
Taxonomic history. Proposed for Radoszkowskius sensu Lelej, 1996c: 92 and Lelej 2005: 82 (not Ashmead, 1903) and differentiated according to the key provided by Lelej, 2005: 121–160. (In summary, female with mesosoma not elongated and distinctly broadest at propodeum, no denticle laterad on propodeum, mesopleura concave, first metasomal tergum much narrower than second, no medial pale spot on first metasomal tergum, pygidial area broad and irregularly rugose throughout; male with first flagellomere as long as or longer than second, mandible not excised ventrally and at most with weak basal tubercle, mesoscutellum strongly conical, first metasomal tergum much narrower than second, hypopygium with strong lateral carina, left penis valve with two long hooks.) The name honours A.R. Wallace, collector of the first specimens of Mutilla simplicifascia (type species of Radoszkowskius ) and pioneer evolutionary biologist. In addition to the type species, the species listed under Radoszkowskius by Lelej (2005: 82–85) belong in Wallacidia . Valid generic name.
Sex association. The male of the type species was associated, identified (as Mutilla malayana Cameron, 1901: 16 ) and redescribed by O'Toole, 1975: 233.
Distribution. Oriental, Palaearctic, Australian.
