Gender. Feminine.
Type species. Mutilla nigroaurea Sichel & Radoszkowski, 1869 (female), by original designation.
Taxonomic history. Valid subgeneric name.
Sex association. The male of the type species was associated and identified (as Mutilla (Stenomutilla) eumenoides André, 1901c: 143 ) by Krombein, 1972: 51.
Distribution. Afrotropical.
