Sigilla Skorikov, 1927 (as subgenus of Myrmilla Wesmael, 1851 ). Ezheg. Zool. Mus. Akad. Nauk SSSR 28(1): 35. Female, male

Gender. Feminine.

Type species. Mutilla dorsata Fabricius, 1798 (female), by monotypy.

Taxonomic history. Raised to generic status by Invrea, 1953a: 275. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The male of the type species was associated and identified (as Mutilla affinis Lucas, 1849: 292 not Westwood, 1843) by André, 1898: 67.

Distribution. Palaearctic.
