Type species. Ephuta (Xenochile) krombeini Schuster, 1957 (male), by original designation.

Taxonomic history. Considered at generic level by Lelej, 2007: 96. Here regarded as at subgeneric level. Valid subgeneric name.

Sex association. The female has not been recognized.

Distribution. Nearctic.
