Type species. Xystromutilla asperiventris André, 1905 (female), by subsequent designation of Mickel, 1928: 38.

Taxonomic history. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The male of the type species has not been recognized; the male of another species was associated and described by Cambra & Quintero, 1992: 477.

Distribution. Neotropical.
