Diagnosis. New species similar to Centrosotettix centrosus but differs from later by eyes in lateral view slightly protruding above pronotum, visible part of tegmen with light crossveins, and hind tibia black (in C. centrosus eyes in lateral view strongly protruding above pronotum, visible part of tegmen black, and hind tibia light brown).
Description. Female (holotype). Body slender, medium-size for genus. Eyes in lateral view slightly protruding above pronotum. Antennae filiform, 16-segmented; antennal grooves situated at the level of lower margin of eyes. Length of antenna 1.9 times longer than length of fore femur; mid segments of antennae 7.5–8.5 times as long as wide. Lateral ocelli placed slightly above the middle part of the eyes. Fastigium of vertex almost reaching the front of eyes from dorsal aspect, 1.5 times narrower than width of one eye from above; anterior margin of fastigium almost straight; median carina short; lateral carinae slightly elevated. Width of 1st antennal segment 2.5 times more than width of frontal ridge near base of antennae. Pronotum in dorsal view with straight anterior margin; posterior process of pronotum far surpass the apex of hind femora. Median carina of pronotum in profile weakly elevated between shoulders and straight in apical part of pronotum. Prozonal carinae parallel, prozona 1.5 times as wide as long. Hind margin of lateral lobe of pronotum bisinuate, tegminal (upper) sinus distinct; lower sinus deep; lower part of lateral lobe directed outwards, with obliquely truncate apex; infrascapular area narrow, lower margin of area straight. Tegmina elongated, narrow, width of visible part of tegmen almost equal to the width of mid femur; hind wings reaching the apex of the posterior process of pronotum. Fore and mid femora 4.0–4.4 times as long as wide, with straight and finely dentate upper and lower margins. Hind femur slender, 3.3 times as long as wide; upper and lower carinae finely dentate. Upper side of hind tibia with 6 outer and 4–5 inner teeth. First tarsal segment of hind legs as long as 3rd segment (without claws). Subgenital plate transverse, with excised posterior margin and triangle middle projection. Cerci conical, 1.5 times as long as wide near base, with acute apex. Valves of ovipositor long and narrow; upper valve dorsally and lower valve ventrally with row of teeth and long setae; upper valve 4.6 times, lower valve 7.8 times as long as its maximum width.
Body grayish brown with black marks. Face in frontal view light brown with black spots; clipeal triangle and lower part of the labrum black; maxillary palps whitish. Antennae blackish; antennomeres of flagellum with light rings at apex; apical antennomeres whitish. Dorsal side of the pronotum grayish brown with small black spots along median carina; lateral lobes light brown with black oblique stripe. Visible part of tegmen with light crossveins. Fore and mid femora grayish brown. Fore and mid tibiae brown with two black rings. First segment of fore and mid tarsi blackish, 2nd light brown with black apex; claws brown. Lower outer area of hind femora black. Hind tibiae black with brown ring in the basal part. First segment of hind tarsi whitish, 2nd segment black, 3rd segment with light with black apex; claws brown. Abdominal tergites black with small light brown spots. Sternal plate black. Abdominal sternites yellowish with black longitudinal stripe. Subgenital plate yellowish. Ovipositor yellowish with brown apex.
Male unknown.
Measurements (in mm). Length of female body (from frontal ridge to apex of subgenital plate) 9.5; pronotum 13.0; antenna 3.8; tegmen 1.5; fore femur 2.01; mid femur 2.2; hind femur 5.6; ovipositor 1.6.
Distribution. Philippines: Mindanao Island.
Etymology. The species name is given because the holotype was found on the high altitude in the mountain region of the island.
