leaves longitudinally folded in bud. Shoots with terminal bud. Flowers subsessile, in clusters of 1-3, appearing before the leaves on shoots of the previous year’s growth, each flower-bud flanked by 2 leafbuds. Fruit usually pubescent or tomentose; endocarp sulcate or pitted.
