Notogaster distinctly broad, nearly rounded in dorsal aspect. Integument: Body without heavy sculpturing and ornamentation. Prodorsum: Rostrum with lateral incisions; with pair of longitudinal carinae. Lamella long, narrow, without cusp, positioned submarginally, pair well separated; translamella present, arch-like; prolamella and tutorium absent; sublamella, sublamellar porose area and keelshaped-ridge present. Rostral and lamellar setae setiform, ro inserted dorsally, comparatively close to each other, le on end of lamella; interlamellar seta and its alveolus absent; bothridial seta with well-developed head. Bothridium cup-shaped, with large lateral scale. Dorsosejugal porose area present. Notogaster: Anterior margin of notogaster developed. Pteromorph large, broadly rounded, movable, curved ventrad. Octotaxic system as saccules. Ten pairs of setae represented by alveoli. Gnathosoma . Subcapitulum diarthric. Palp setation: 0–2–1–3–9(+ω); solenidion of palptarsus connected to eupathidium, pair slightly curved. Chelicera chelate-dentate. Epimeral and lateral podosomal regions: Epimeral setal formula: 3–1–3–3. Pedotecta I and II represented by small lamina. Custodium absent. Discidium and circumpedal carina present. Humeral region with porose area(s). Anogenital region: Four pairs of genital, one pair of aggenital, two pairs of anal, and three pairs of adanal setae. Adanal lyrifissure located close and parallel to anal plate. Marginal porose areas present. Postanal porose area absent. Legs: Monodactylous.

Etymology. The generic name is derived from the place of origin, Aragua State + ‘ zetes ’, a common suffix for generic names in Oripodoidea.

Remarks. The new genus differs from other genera of Haplozetidae by the following combination of character states: notogaster distinctly broad, nearly rounded in dorsal aspect, without heavy sculpturing and ornamentation; rostral region with a pair of the longitudinal carinae; interlamellar seta and its alveolus absent; lamellae comparatively long, well separated, without cusp, connected by arch-like translamella; tutorium absent; keel-shaped ridge present; 10 pairs of notogastral setal alveoli present; four pairs of drop-like notogastral saccules; anogenital formula: 4–1– 2–3; legs monodactylous.
