Remarks: This species belongs the Expansive Iranoeremian faunal element having a distribution that extends from eastern Anatolia ( Aspöck et al. 2001) to Uzbekistan ( Kerimova et al. 2023) and Pakistan ( Iqbal & Yousuf 1997). It also occurs in Egypt ( El Hamouly & Fadl 2011) and the Arabian Peninsula ( Kerimova et al. 2023) in the south. It is reported here as a new country record for Iraq.
The pattern of the wings is very variable and therefore many synonyms for this species are known ( Hölzel 1972). The pronotum is uniformly brown, the apical band of the hindwing can be of various shapes, but it is never segmented and does not include a bright spot or any pattern.
