Remarks: This species belongs to the Iranoeremian faunal element. Its range extends from Tunisia in North Africa ( Güsten 2003) across the Arabian Peninsula to Iran ( Aspöck et al. 2001). It is a new country record for Iraq.

This is the only species in the genus Quinemurus that occurs in the region, but the habitus of the species is similar to that of Neuroleon species. The abdomen of males is thickened at segments 3-6 and is covered with characteristic long white hairs ( Fig. 5I View FIGURE 5 ). The distinguishing characteristic for the genus is that there are no cross-veins in the cubital area of the hind wing ( Fig. 5J View FIGURE 5 ).
