Remarks: This species is part of the Iranoeremian faunal element whose distribution extends towards Central Asia ( Krivokhatsky et al. 2015 as N. lukhtanovi Krivokhatsky, 1996 (syn.)). It is newly reported here as a new country record for Iraq.
This is the smallest known Neuroleon species (length of the forewing: 11-12 mm), and it is easily distinguished from other Neuroleon species by the pattern of the head, pronotum ( Fig. 5G and H View FIGURE 5 ) and tergites.
