Remarks: This species range extends from southern Europe through the arid mountains of the Middle East to Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia ( Aspöck et al. 2001). A distributional record from Niger ( Fraser 1950) is unlikely. We report this species as a new country record for Iraq.
This is the only known Nemoleon species in the region. The wing pattern is slightly variable but characteristic of the species ( Fig. 6C View FIGURE 6 ). On the legs, the tarsal segment 1 is conspicuously elongated, the tibial spurs are straight and as long as the tarsal segment 1.
