Comments: Replaced synonym: Euastrum sinuosum Lenormand ex W.Archer. There are several varities and formae of this species (see Anissimova & Guiry (2021a)). We consider the cell outline here best matches the original depictions of the type species. Croasdale & Flint (1986) noted that this species is typically found in acidic habitats, especially Sphagnum waters.
Distribution: Cosmopolitan. Several varieties of this species have been reported from Indonesia, including Kalimantan.
