Comments: The size of the figured cell and its outline with truncated apeax suggest this species is Cosmarium sublatereundatum West & G.S.West. However, confirmation of the cell wall ornamentation and observations of the speciemens from different viewpoints is needed.
Distribution: Previous records of this species suggested a more or less tropical to sub-tropical distribution: Russian Federation (Asian part), Japan, Myanmar ( Burma), Bangladesh, India, Iraq, Africa, Paraguay, France and Poland.
