Comments: Coesel & Meesters (2007) rated this species as acidophilous and oligotrophic. Croasdale et al. (1994) stated that this species is usually found in oligotrophic waters but noted that it also occured in a much broader range of pH.
Distribution: Cosmopolitan. Scott & Prescott (1961) encountered this speices frequently in their collections from Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan (as Borneo).
