Genetic distances were calculated based on 532 nucleotides of a similarity alignment of the gene 16S except for M. ankohuma , which lacked the homologous fragment. For the latter species, we report genetic distances with its sister taxon (a clade including M. guillei , M. illampu and M. kallawaya ) based on a similarity alignment of 485 nucleotides of a different and non-overlapping fragment of 16S.
