Paratypes: 3 ♂: same data as holotype but NHMUK 013796030 - NHMUK 013796032 , (2 BMNH, 1 JHAC).

Description of the holotype.

Measurements (mm). – TL 2.6 mm, EW 1.3 mm.

Body ( Fig. 1 View Fig ). – Elongated and oval, slightly convex; dorsally and ventrally unicolorous dark brown, shiny; dorsum covered with long and erect, brown and golden setation; thoracic underside with comparatively long and recumbent, yellow setation and black; visible abdominal ventrites with recumbent, yellow setation, sparser than that on thoracic surface.

Head. – Finely punctate. – Palpi dark brown. Frontal median ocellus present. – Antennae brown (antennomeres VIII-XI dark brown) with long, yellow setation, composed of 11 antennomeres, antennal club compact with 3 antennomeres, terminal antennomere longly triangular (Fig. 5).

Pronotum. – Finely punctate on the disc, coarsely punctate on lateral margins; covered by yellow setation (Fig 7). – Hypomeron matt, coarsely punctate.

Scutellum View in CoL . – Smallandtriangular,shining,withroundedapex,withoutsetation.

Elytra. – Coarsely punctate on humeri andwith one smallhumeral bump, other parts finely punctate; anterior part with yellow setation other parts covered by intermixed brown and yellow setation.

Ventral surface. – Epipleuron dark brown, short, coarselypunctate with short yellowsetae.– Prosternum without“collar”,mouthparts free. Prosternalprocess long and narrow. – Meta- mesosternum coarsely punctate discally and laterally, with yellow,recumbentsetation.– Abdomen brown,withfive visible abdominalventrites, each ventrite laterally with small depressions,covered by recumbent,yellow setation.

Pygidium . – Brown with short yellow setae.

Legs. – Brown, covered with comparatively shortandthick,yellow setation.

Tarsimoderatelylong.

Differential diagnosis. – The new species is visually similar to species Attagenus: balakaensis Háva, 2016, lategriseus Kalík, 1955 and africanus Mroczkowski, 1958, but differs from them by the following characters:

Etymology. – The epithet is a patronym honouring of my friend and colleague Keita Matsumoto (BMNH).

Female. – Unknown.

Variability. – Body: TL 2.6-2.8 mm, EW 1.3-1.6 mm.
