Current status. Spalgis epeus fangola ( Kheil, 1884) , subspecies of S. epeus (Westwood, [1851]) .

Distribution. Indonesia: Nias (KHElL 1884), Sumatra (FRUHSTORÞER 1917a).

Remarks. FRUHSTORÞER (1917a) placed fangola as a subspecies of S. epeus based on its extremely small size and the very fine net pattern on the underside of the wings.
