Basionym:— Psathyra trechispora Petch, Annals of the Royal Botanic Gardens Peradeniya 6(3): 203 (1917) (≡ Psathyrella trechispora (Petch) Pegler, Kew Bulletin, S12: 388 (1986))

Notes:— This species is described from Sri Lanka, recombined into Cantonopsathyra due to its morphological similarity with Cn. serendipita ( Pegler 1986, Pegler & Young 1992). However, this species still differs from Cn. serendipita by larger basidiomata, larger basidiospores, shorter and narrower basidia, shorter cheilocystidia, and the absence of pleurocystidia.
