Basionym:— Lacrymaria malayana S.M.L. Lee & Voto , in Voto, Rivista Micologica Romana 110(2): 90 (2020) (note that Lacrymaria Pat. is an illegitimate name; ≡ (Nom. inval.) Psathyrella malayana Corner, Gardens Bulletin Singapore 45(2): 339 (1994)).

Notes:— This species is described from Singapore, recombined into Cantonopsathyra due to its morphological similarity with Cn. serendipita ( Corner 1994, Voto 2020). However, this species still differs from Cn. serendipita by larger basidiomata, larger basidiospores without myxosporial wrinkling, and the absence of pleurocystidia.
