Type species — Baecacanthus telamon Monné, 1975 (original designation).

Diagnosis. Body cylindrical; lateral tubercles of the prothorax placed in the posterior third, very acute and narrow, with apex directed toward humeri; pronotum without tubercles; elytra without lateral carina and without centrobasal crest; basal metatarsomere longer than next two together. Number of species currently included: 2.
