Peltonotellus fasciatus ( Chan & Yang, 1994)

Aphelonema fasciata Chan & Yang, 1994: 8 View in CoL . New name for Mushya quadrivittata Kato, 1933 View in CoL .

Mushya quadrivittata Kato, 1933: 464 View in CoL . Synonymised by Chan & Yang (1994).

Material examined. No specimen has been obtained by the authors.

Host plant. Unknown.

Distribution. China ( Taiwan Province).

Note. The genus Peltonotellus used to be considered a synonym of the genus Aphelonema Uhler, 1876 ( Metcalf, 1958). Emeljanov (1996) thought that Peltonotellus belonged to the subgenus of Aphelonema while studying the related taxa of the family Caliscelidae . Since then, the genus Peltonotellus has been restored to its taxonomic status ( Emeljanov, 2008; Holzinger et al., 2003). Mushya Kato, 1933 --this genus is actually a synonym of Aphelonema Uhler, 1876 .

Remarks. P. fasciatus ( Chan & Yang, 1994) differs from other species of genus Peltonotellus by the following characteristics: 1) vertex from apex to tip of abdomen with a pale longitudinal stripe along median line; 2) with a black round spot on each side of median carina of frons; 3) pygofer in profile with posterior margin roundly convex.
