Bambusicaliscelis nigritus sp. nov.

( Figures 23–25 View FIGURE 23 View FIGURE 24 View FIGURE 25 , 26A–F View FIGURE 26 )

Description. Measurements. Body length (from apex of vertex to tip of abdomen): male 4.0 mm, female 4.9 mm; forewing length: male 1.8 mm, female 2.1 mm.

Coloration. Male: Body mainly dark brown. The inconspicuous longitudinal stripe from apex of vertex to tip of abdomen pale green. Frons brown with the small yellowish white tubercules between lateral and sublateral carinae. Clypeus brown. Eyes dark brown. Pronotum and mesonotum lateral areas with several yellowish green sensory pits. Forewing black. Abdominal 4th and 5th pleuron yellowish brown. Female: Body mainly brown with somewhat green. The inconspicuous longitudinal stripe from apex of vertex to tip of abdomen pale yellow. Eyes brown. The middle area of vertex and pronotum reddish brown.

Head and thorax. Vertex with anterior margin truncated, width of vertex including eyes as long as pronotum. Vertex with length in middle line 0.4 times than width at base. Frons 1.2 times longer in middle line than widest part, sublateral carinae slightly keeled, median carina distinct, areas between sublateral carinae and lateral carinae slightly depress. Clypeus median carina distinct. Pronotum shorter than vertex (1:1.2). Mesonotum 0.9 times as long as vertex and pronotum together in middle line, 3-carinate, median carina weak. Spinal formula of hind leg 6–3–2.

Male genitalia. Anal segment in dorsal view with length 1.1 times longer in middle line than widest part, apical margin roundly convex; in lateral view dorsal margin slightly convex, ventral margin slightly concave in the middle, the base half broad, apex half narrow. Pygofer in lateral view with posterior margin roundly concave in the middle, ventral margin strongly oblique; in posterior view with length 1.8 times as long as widest part; in ventral view, posterior margin roundly concave in the middle. Genital style in lateral view large and broad, ventral margin convex, dorsal margin sinuated, apical margin slightly convex, a finger-like process apically arising from dorsal margin, slightly dorsally curved, narrowing apically; in ventral view long, finger-like process points inward. Phallobase tubular, apex ventrally divided into double petals. Aedeagus double tubular, much slender and longer, encircled in phallobase, reflexed ventrad at level of apex 1/4 of phallobase, apex points to the dorsal margins, tapering apically.

Female genitalia. Anal segment in dorsal view with length 1.1 times longer in middle line than widest part, apex narrowed, apical margin slightly convex; anal pore located distal half; in lateral view small, the basal 1/3 broad, narrowing apically. Abdominal sternite VII in ventral view with width 3.5 times as long as length, posterior margin sinuated. Gonapophysis VIII elongate, with four spines at apical margin. Gonapophysis IX with two symmetrical lobes, each lobe nearly rectangle with many spines at dorsal margin, ventral margin slightly concave. Gonoplac with outer surface shagreen; in lateral view broad, nearly triangle, dorsal margin and ventral margin with a concave middle.

Host plant. Bamboo ( Figures 26G View FIGURE 26 ).

Distribution. China (Guizhou Province).

Type material. Holotype: ♂, China: Guizhou Province, Xishui County, Dongfeng Lake Wetland Park, 2019- VIII-28, Sha-Sha Lv . Paratype: 1♀, data same as holotype, Nian Gong .

Etymology. The specific name is derived from the Latin word “ nigricans ”, referring to the color of the body.

Remarks. This new species is closely related to B. dentis Chen & Zhang, 2011 , but differs in: 1) forewing of male black (brown in B. dentis ); 2) anal segment in dorsal view with length as long as widest part (with length 2 times longer in middle line than widest part in B. dentis ); 3) aedeagus without any teeth (each with 2–3 teeth at ventral margin medially in B. dentis ).
