Diagnosis
Azorastia is distinguished from Nannodastia by the following combination of characters wing: cross cu present; vein M distinct to wing margin; costal vein extended to vein M. Male terminalia: syntergostemite 7 + 8 distinct, normally retracted within tergite 6; epandrium lacking a ventroapical process;
relatively long, lacking any processes or thornlike setae, medial surface with numerous short setae, contact with interparameral sclerite; lateral wall of surstylus fused with epandrium (but not medial aedeagus in unflexed position with flat lamellae parallel with dorsum, horizontally turned out;
rather dorsally placed on epandrium; hypandrium and aedeagus very long and slender. Female cerci at least 1 long seta ( Papp and Mathis 2001).
