Comentarios. En el Parque Nacional Lanín, el género Histiotus se encuentra representado por las especies H. montanus y H. macrotus , ambas distinguibles principalmente por caracteres externos y sutiles diferencias en tamaño ( Pearson, 1995; Barquez et al., 2006). Aparentemente las áreas abiertas entre los bosques húmedos subantárticos serían el hábitat preferido por ambas especies del género en Patagonia (véase Greer, 1965).
El material aquí descripto no es asignable a nivel específico debido a su naturaleza fragmentaria.
