Calling song

A mixed trill. The signal presents two very distinct types of echemmes. The first comprises brief syllables resembling ‘tics’ lasting 0.12 ± 0.02 (0.106 –0.183) seconds, spaced by 0.40 ± 0.09 (0.308 –0.654) seconds. The second syllable lasts 1.36 ± 0.58 (1.03–2.04) seconds, with 136.3 ± 33.5 (116–175) notes during its emission. The peak frequency of 12.83 ± 0.42 (11.9–13.4) kHz and a bandwidth of 11.73 ± 1.18 (10.12–12.93) kHz.

Collection site

Santa Vitória do Palmar, Donatos district. The organism was recorded and collected on 12 January 2020, at 8 pm. The males singing in shrubs, 1 metre above the ground, with a temperature of 22°C ( Figures 8D View Figure 8 and 10D View Figure 10 ).

Remarks

We are waiting for future studies to confirm the identification at species level.
