Recognition. Trichoclinocera View in CoL is distinguished from other clinocerine genera by the following combination of characters: R 1 setose, R 4 and R 5 normally nearly parallel, apex of cell dm not strongly produced, M 1 and M 2 arising separately from cell dm, fore femur with rows of ventral setae; female abdomen truncate, with tergite 9+10 setose (acanthophorite-like); and apex of phallus membranous, lacking filament.
Distribution. The genus occurs in the Palearctic, Nearctic and Oriental Regions.
